The academic value of ZHANG Taiyan's Preface to the Modern Interpretation of Treatise on Febrile Diseases is that he firstly revealed the key mistakes in CHENG Wuji's annotation of ZHANG Zhongjing's book.First,he annotated the names of typhoid fever,stroke,febrile diseases and other diseases in Zhongjing's book as the names of typhoid fever,wind in the wind and febrile diseases in the Huangdi Neijing.Zhongjing's disease name is'on its syndrome',and Huangdi Neijing's disease name is'on its cause',with the same original words but different meanings.The second is to annotate the three yang,three yin and six syndromes in Zhongjing's book as the three yang,three yin and six meridians in Huangdi Neijing,which causes theoretical confusion.This preface is an important classic document for studying Treatise on Febrile Diseases and the history of traditional Chinese medicine,which deserves attention and discussion.
