宇文所安与路易·艾黎的李白诗英译译者主体性研究

A Study of the Translator’s Subjectivity of English Translations of Li Bai’s Poems by Stephen Owen and Rewi Alley

中国古典诗歌的外译不仅是简单的文字转换,更是音韵、情感和意境的传达。在这一过程中,译者应发挥主体作用,在目的语中重构源语的诗意之美。宇文所安和路易·艾黎的翻译对李白诗在英美世界经典地位的确立产生了重要影响。由于两位译者翻译目的不同,在翻译活动中表现的主体性也有所差异,进而导致了不同的翻译效果。文章从受动性、能动性、为我性三个要素入手,分析两位译者不同的主体声音对诗歌翻译策略和翻译效果的影响,以期为汉诗英译乃至中国文学英译提供启示和借鉴。

The translation of Chinese classical poetry is not only a simple transformation of words,but also the transmission of sound,emotion,and artistic conception.In this process,the translator should play a subjective role in reconstructing the poetic beauty of the source language in the target language.The translations of Stephen Owen and Rewi Alley had a significant impact on the establishment of Li Bai’s poetry as a classic in the British and American world.Due to the different translation purposes of the two translators,there are also differences in their subjectivity in translation activities,which leads to different translation effects.The article analyzes the impact of the different voices of the two translators on poetry translation strategies and effects,starting from the three elements of passivity,agency,and egoism,in order to provide inspiration and reference for the English translation of Chinese poetry and even Chinese literature.
