The sleep development of premature infants is a highly dynamic process, which is closely related to the function of heart, lung and brain as well as growth and development.Researches on prone position(PP)has attracted increasing attention in terms of its effects on pulmonary oxygenation, cardiopulmonary stability, cerebral blood perfusion, brain function, and digestion in preterm infants, which are highly relevant to changes in body position during PP and its effects on sleep.Although much research progress has been made in the effects of PP on sleep development and organ function of premature infants, there are still some controversial issues that need further research. This paper will start from the sleep and organ development characteristics of premature infants, and focus on the effects of PP on sleep, heart, lung, brain and digestion of premature infants. This paper mainly reviews the effects of PP on sleep of premature infants and the effects of PP on the relationship between sleep state and organ function of premature infants.
