摘要
美国当代印第安裔作家路易丝·厄德里克的小说《拉罗斯》是2017年美国国家书评人协会奖的获奖作品。小说中具有魔幻色彩的人物描写、怪诞离奇的故事情节、打破时空界限的叙事方法和寓意深远的象征手法,使小说呈现出浓厚的魔幻现实主义特征。作者运用魔幻现实主义手法展示了印第安人的意识形态和文化符号,凸显了印第安文化的魅力,再现了印第安人的生存困境,批判了美国的殖民主义与种族主义,具有深刻的社会意义。
The novel LaRose written by Louise Erdrich,a contemporary native American writer,is the award-winning work of the Nation-al Book Critics Circle Award in 2017.The novel is characterized by magical characters,grotesque plots,narrative strategies that break the boundaries of time and space,and profound symbolic techniques,which make the novel show strong magical realism characteristics.By using magic realism,the author shows Indian ideology and cultural symbols,highlights the charm of Indian culture,represents the plight of Indians,and criticizes American colonialism and racism,which has profound social significance.
