英国纽卡斯尔北洋水师水兵墓保护与社会参与研究

Study on the Restoration and Social Participation of the Beiyang Fleet of Imperial Chinese Navy Sailors’Graves in St.John’s Cemetery in Newcastle,UK

位于英国纽卡斯尔圣约翰墓园的北洋水师水兵墓,经过100多年的岁月侵袭,墓碑倒塌破坏,由中国文物保护基金会发起全球募集资金修缮。该保护项目由于涉及中华海外文化遗产与英国2级遗产,文章对其保护的责任与义务进行了工程伦理探讨。保护过程充分体现了社会参与对文化遗产保护的重要推进作用,丰富了该项遗产的社会价值。

The Beiyang Fleet of Imperial Chinese Navy Sailors’Graves are located in St.John’s Cemetery in Newcastle,UK.After more than 100 years,the grave stones collapsed,which led to a global crowdfunding campaign launched by China Foundation for Cultural Heritage Conservation.The graves are cultural heritage of Chinese Overseas and a registered garden and park-grade II of heritage graveyards and cemeteries in Britain.This paper discusses the responsibility and obligation of its restoration from the aspect of engineering ethics.The restoration process fully reflects the role of public participation in promoting cultural heritage conservation and enhances its social value.
