中华书局本《史记》的《田叔列传》,在补叙褚少孙所说任安生平时遗漏了“家于武功”一句。考察这一细微文本问题,可推测中华书局本《史记》“任安传”相关文本的形成过程,能揭示诸如水泽利忠《史记会注考证校补》、吴树平《全注全译史记》、王利器《史记注译》以及《史记》日译本等《史记》众多现代评注本之间的相关文本差异,并提醒在阅读《史记》时仍须比对多个版本和注释。而考索“武功”的具体地理方位及体察褚少孙补叙任安生平的相关文本,可纠正英国学者鲁惟一(Michael Loewe)关于任安生平叙述的一些失察之处。

Tian Shu liezhuan(Memoir of Tian Shu)in Zhong Hua Book Company’s edition of Shiji(Historical Records)omits the phrase Jia Yu Wugong,when recounting Ren An’s life according to Chu Shaosun’s account.Examining this minor textual issue can reveal the process of the formation of related texts concerning Biography of Ren An in Zhong Hua Book Company’s edition of Shiji.It can also highlight the differences between many modern critical editions of Shiji,such as Mizusawa Toshitada(水泽利忠)’s Shiki kaichūkōshōkōho,Wu Shuping’s Quanzhu Quanyi Shiji,Wang Liqi’s Shiji Zhuyi and the Japanese rendition of Shiji.This reminds us that we still need to compare a number of editions and commentaries when reading Shiji.Furthermore,by investigating the specific geographical location of Wugong and examining related texts recounting Ren An’s life by Chu Shaosun,we can correct some oversights made by Michael Loewe in his description of Ren An’s life.
