顺德清晖园“羊城八景”蚀刻玻璃:版本、年代及工艺

On the Etched Glass of the Eight Views of Ram City in the Qinghui Garden of Shunde:Version,Production Period,and Craftsmanship

顺德清晖园是岭南四大名园之一,园内沐英涧装饰一组以“羊城八景”为主题的蚀刻玻璃,目前学界对其年代、内容版本及工艺等问题都缺乏深入讨论。通过梳理地方志文献可知,此套玻璃所用版本肇始于元代,收录于明地方志,在清中期开始以画作呈现。在对比同版本的图像材料后,笔者认为清晖园玻璃从内容、视角及风格上都符合清代“羊城八景”的创作格套,年代拟为清晚期。文章还探讨了其制作工艺,即清晚期传入并盛行的玻璃套色蚀刻法。玻璃在广式园林的装饰中承担了重要角色,清晖园此套玻璃提供了可贵的参考。

Qinghui Garden,located in Shunde,is renowned as one of the Four Famous Gardens of Lingnan.Within this garden,there exists a collection of etched glass pieces in the Muyingjian area,portraying the“Eight Views of Ram City.”However,there is currently a lack of comprehensive scholarly discourse concerning the dating,variations in content,and craftsmanship of these glass artworks.By scrutinizing different versions of local gazetteers,it becomes evident that this series of scenes originated during the Yuan Dynasty and was documented in local gazetteers during the Ming Dynasty.Subsequently,a shift to painted renditions took place in the mid-Qing Dynasty.Upon comparing imagery materials from the same version,it is proposed that the content,perspective,and style of the glassworks in Qinghui Garden conform to the artistic framework of the Qing Dynasty’s“Eight Views of Ram City,”indicating a probable dating to the late Qing period.The article also delves into the employed production techniques,specifically highlighting the prevalent glass colour-etching method introduced during the late Qing era.Glass assumes a significant role in adorning Cantonese-style gardens,and this collection of glass pieces within Qinghui Garden offers valuable references for further scholarly exploration.
