《埤雅》引《说文》释义研究

A Study of the Quotation of Beiya from Shuowen

《埤雅》是宋代陆佃所作的一部仿雅之作,广引文献以训释名物是该书的重要特色。陆佃曾参与编修《说文》,所以《说文》成为他援引材料的主要来源之一,通过对《埤雅》中所引《说文》的相关条目梳理,可以总结陆佃使用《说文》说解名物的方法及其价值,进而了解陆佃的文字观。

Beiya,written by Lu Dian of Song Dynasty,is a piece of work to imitate ya(an ancient Chinese literary style).A prominent feature of this book is the citation of a lot of documents to explain the names.As Lu was once involved in the compilation work of Shuowen(full name,Shuowen Jiezi,or in English,Analytical Dictionary of Characters,written by Xu Shen in 100 AD.It underwent many times of revision and re-editing in the history because of discrepancies and errors in various versions),this book became a major source of his citation.By combing through the relevant entries of Shuowen cited in Beiya,we can find out Lu Dian’s method of using Shuowen to explain names and its value to understand his view of words.
