National Ceremonies:Symbolic Dimension of Community Identity Construction

国家仪式即国家权力机构动员群体展开的程序性、重复性、规范性的象征性活动。国家仪式是以特定时空、鲜明主题、象征符号构筑的政治象征体系,它唤醒集体记忆、传播主流价值、连接能指所指,以记忆再生产、观念再生产、权力再生产,生产出国家在场的以权力遵从信任、主流价值内化、利益共通共享为核心的共同体认同。中华人民共和国成立以来15次国庆大阅兵,呈现出了国家仪式建构共同体认同的实践图景。当前合理挖掘时空资源,有效传播主流价值,精心设计象征符号,推进国家仪式供给规范化、传播大众化、效能持续化,是优化国家仪式建构共同体认同的策略路径。

National ceremonies are symbolic activities that involve the mobilization of groups by state power institutions,which are procedural,repetitive,and normative.National ceremonies are a political symbolic system constructed with specific time and space,distinct themes,and symbolic signs.They awaken collective memory,disseminate mainstream values,connect the signifier and the signified,and reproduce memory,ideas,and power to produce a community identity centered on the power compliance trust in the presence of the state,the internalization of mainstream values,and the common sharing of interests.The 15 times of National Day military parades since the founding of the People’s Republic of China have presented the practical picture of national rituals constructing community identity.The current strategic path for optimizing the construction of community identity in national ceremonies is to reasonably tap into spatio-temporal resources,effectively disseminate mainstream values,carefully design symbolic signs,and promote the standardization of national ritual supply,popularization of dissemination,and sustained effectiveness.
