Lijin is one of the central cities in the Yellow River Delta, which thrives on the river and the sea.During the Ming and Qing dynasties,Tiemen Pass, located 35 kilometers northeast of Lijin City, was a well-known water and drought wharf and salt transportation important place inside and outside the province.Due to the superior geographical location of the Daqing River connecting the canal to the Bohai Sea,coupled with the impact of factors such as the disaster and desolation, the Qing government's relaxation of the Lijin Pass and the restrictions on transferring grain, the Tiemen Pass was crowded with goods and merchants, and it was very prosperous.Tiemen Pass played an important role in grain transportation, salt production and marketing, and the commercial development of Lijin. However,as the Yellow River was diverted to seize the Daqing River from Lijin to the sea,the salt works were abandoned, the river silted, and the Tiemen Pass finally disappeared into the long river of history.
