建立中国的东南亚学:为什么、凭什么、做什么

Establishing China s Southeast-Asianology:Why,What and How

本文呼吁在“区域国别学”一级学科下设立“东南亚学”二级学科,并从人类社会与国际形势发展的需要、中国和平发展并日益走近国际舞台中心的需要以及大学学科自身发展的需要回答了“为什么”的问题;从中国具有独特的东南亚区域国别知识与理论、拥有充足的从事东南亚研究的人力资源和学术平台、有着培养专门从事东南亚研究的人才的探索回答了“凭什么”的问题;从注重多学科与跨学科创新实践、注意官产学和东南亚国家四方间的联动与合作、虚心学习西方区域研究并有超越它们建立中国特色“东南亚学”的眼界和心胸三个方面回答了“做什么”的问题。

This paper advocates to create“Southeast-Asianology”as a secondary discipline of Region and Country Studies established by China Ministry of Education.First,it is not only required by the development of human society and international politics.But more importantly,China s peaceful rise,its emerging role in the international relations as well as the advancement of tertiary education all make it an imperative to do so.These factors well address the question of“why”.Second,the conditions for China to establish“Southeast-Asianology”are ripe.For example,China has developed a distinct system of knowledge and theory about Southeast Asia studies;it has maintained a rich reservoir of relevant experts with advanced academic platforms to train and nurture next-generation scholars on Southeast Asian Studies.Third,in terms of methods,China is now implementing multi-disciplinary innovation and practice.It pays attention to the combination of industry,government,university and with close collaborations with Southeast Asian countries.It endeavors to learn from the Western experience and meanwhile to aim to go beyond for establishing a Southeast-Asianology with the vision for the global community with a shared future for mankind.
