NIJ is committed to applying AI to criminal justice and public safety to promote public safety and reduce crime.The AI research falls primarily into four areas.Firstly,public safety video and image analysis,to improve the speed,quality,and specificity of data collection,imaging,and analysis.Secondly,DNA analysis.As the accuracy advances,DNA mixture analysis may become an increasingly challenging work.Thirdly,gunshot detection.The content and quality of gunshot recordings are influenced by many factors.Using a well-defined mathematical model,we can distinguish them.Fourthly,crime forecasting.The application includes rulings suggestion,potential criminal recidivism prediction,and potential elder victims of abuse and potential victims of violent crime determination.Al has the potential to be a permanent part of our criminal justice ecosystem and allow criminal justice professionals to better maintain public safety.In2016,the White House also directed the creation of a national strategy for AI research and development.AI will improve our lives in all aspects.
