陈琛的避世思想探析

An Analysis of Chen Chen’s Thought of Reclusion

时人及后学对明代泉州理学家陈琛“有避世之深心而非玩世”的评价值得深究。结合陈琛行迹和著作,他的避世思想表现为淡泊仕进的态度、抱道自乐的自在洒脱、谈隐论仙的隐逸心态。陈琛避世思想的产生与其个人经历、命义观及知时识时有关。陈琛的避世并非追求遗世独立、绝人遁世的生活,更非以隐为手段、以隐求名。他反对消极无为的人生态度,并于乡里修身养志,体证儒者真乐。

It is worth exploring the evaluation of Chen Chen,a Neo Confucianist of Quanzhou in the Ming Dynasty,by the people of that time and the later scholars:“having a strong desire to live a reclusive life but being not cynic”.From Chen Chen’s deeds and works,it can be found that his though of reclusivon manifested in his indifferent attitude towards official career,a free and unrestrained attitude of learning Taoism and enjoying himself,reclusive mentality of talking about reclusion and immortality.The emergence of Chen Chen’s thought of reclusion and his personal experience were related to his views on life meaning and“time”.His thought of reclusion was neither to live in a mountain or forest along,nor to pursue fame by the means of reclusion.Chen Chen did not pursue a reclusive lifestyle and stand aloof from the world,instead he opposed the negative and inaction life attitude,but pursued to cultivate his mind and moral character in rural areas and experienced and verified the true pleasure of Confucians.
