Mirrors are very common tools in people s lives,and they are not only artifacts that reflect looks and appearance,but also serve as a vehicle for imagery to form culture.A idiom is a phrase or sentence that has been passed down in folklore for a long time and is one of the most important ways to pass down folk culture.The word“mirror”is used in Chinese and Russian idioms in different ways,reflecting the different cultural customs of the two countries.This article takes“mirror”imagery in Chinese and Russian idioms as the object of study,and adopts a comparative research method to analyze the specific expressions of mirror imagery in Chinese and Russian idioms and their cultural connotations,and to explore the cultural differences between the two countries.
