Ceroplastes japonicus mainly harms fruit trees such as jujube,persimmon,pear and peach.In recent years,it has become a dangerous pest that harms jujube trees and occurs in all counties and districts of Zhumadian.C.japonicus sucks the juice of branches,leaves and fruits with nymphs and female adults,and its discharge induces the spread of mold,which makes branches,leaves and fruits covered with black mold,seriously affecting the progress of leaf photosynthesis,causing a large number of fruits to fall,resulting in extreme decline of tree vigor,and even death of some branches or the whole plant in serious cases.The morphological characteristics,host plants,damage,life history,occurrence regularity and control measures of C.japonicus were discussed for the reference of forestry science and technology workers and fruit farmers.
