根据国家版本数据中心和开卷图书零售市场观测系统的数据,依据辞书在出版数量、产品形态和销售渠道等方面的发展变化情况,可以将中国辞书学会1992年成立后中国辞书市场30年的发展历程分为3个阶段:发展期(1992~2002年)、成熟期(2003~2015年)和转型期(2016~2022年)。发展动因则呈现出国家引导和市场调控相结合的特色,国家对辞书编纂出版的引导、学会参与对辞书市场的规范、辞书产品对市场需求的响应、辞书出版者市场意识的转变,是推动辞书市场发展的主要因素。辞书市场虽不断成熟壮大,但繁荣中也存在着问题,主要有选题跟风、版权意识淡薄、新媒体营销无序、文化公司规范管理有待加强、学界研究不够、数字辞书盈利模式有待确立等。面对未来的中国辞书市场,需要所有辞书界同人一道,从规范市场环境、双效统一、数字化转型探索、用户消费观念培育等方面共同努力,以期推动中国辞书市场的持续健康发展。
China has a booming dictionary market,yet its research on dictionary market is relatively sparse.Based on data collected from the National Publications Data Center and the OpenBook Retail Market Monitor System,this study offers an overview of the development of dictionary market in China.In view of the significant changes in publication volume,product formats,and sales channels since the establishment of ChinaLex in 1992,China's dictionary market in the past three decades can be divided into three stages:development stage(1992-2002),mature stage(2003-2015)and transformation stage(2016-2022).In the course of the development,the forces of state guidance and market regulation combined to stimulate the transformation of the dictionary market.More specifically,the main factors contributing to the development of dictionary market include the state guidance on dictionary compilation and publication,the participation of ChinaLex in standardizing the dictionary market,the response of dictionary products to market demand,and the growing market awareness among dictionary publishers.The main challenges facing the thriving dictionary market include blindly following trend in title selection,weak copyright awareness,disorder in new media marketing,low-standard administration in cultural companies,scarcity of academic research,and lack of profitable model for digital dictionaries.Looking into the future,we suggest in this paper that the entire dictionary community make joint efforts to standardize the market environment,strike a balance between social and economic benefits,explore digital transformation,and cultivate user consumption mindset,with a purpose to promote the sustained and healthy development of China's dictionary market.
