In recent years,China has brought fortha slew of ideas and initiatives that canbe seen as"public goods"for the world and is striving for their fulfillment.This isvery similar to the role the country playedin the Bandung Conference in 1955,when itpromoted cooperation among newly indepen-dent countries that pursued a policy of non-alignment,thus helping forge a new postwarglobal landscape.
