A Review of Convict Criminology

罪犯犯罪学是从罪犯的视角研究犯罪与相关问题的犯罪学分支学科。从事这类研究和相关工作的人员,被称为“罪犯犯罪学家”。罪犯犯罪学是20世纪90年代后期在北美发展起来的,有一些重要人物和标志性事件。通常把罪犯犯罪学看成是批判犯罪学的一种,其目标是利用以前作为犯人的经历和作为专业学者而学会的工具,从事民族志研究,以便更真实地描述监狱经历,进而提出改革刑事司法制度的建议。罪犯犯罪学家不仅从事了很多研究工作,也进行了大量实践活动,提出了很多政策建议。除了美国之外,其成员还活跃在加拿大、新西兰、英国、芬兰、澳大利亚等国家。罪犯犯罪学具有多方面的重要价值,我国应当借鉴其中有益成分;在我国发展这个领域,需要一些必要条件。

Convict criminology(CC)is a branch of criminology that studies crime and related issues from the perspective of convicts.Those who do this type of research and related work are called"convict criminologists".CC was developed in North America in the late 90s of the 20th century,with some important figures and landmark events.CC is often seen as a form of critical criminology,the goal of which is to engage in ethnographic research,using the tools previously learned as a prisoner and as a professional scholar,in order to provide a more realistic picture of the prison experience and to make recommendations for reforming the criminal justice system.Convict criminologists have not only engaged in a lot of research work,but also carried out a lot of practical activities and put forward many policy recommendations.In addition to the United States,its active members live in countries such as Canada,New Zealand,the United Kingdom,Finland,Australia,etc.CC has many important values,and China should learn from its beneficial components;in the development of this area in China,a number of necessary conditions is required.
