翻译的物质性:以民国上海影院的翻译实践为例

The Materiality of Translation:An Examination of Film Translation in the Republican-Era of Shanghai

物质转向在人文社科研究中蔚然成风,此况已行之有年,然翻译研究对其尚缺乏足够的关注。有鉴于此,本文将以“物质转向”的相关理论为依托,援引西方学者有关翻译与物质的讨论,探究翻译的物质性,以期为翻译研究带来新视角。本文理论与个案并重,拟在物质性的视阈下,以民国上海翻译西洋影片为考察中心,描摹上海电影行业在20世纪上叶如何倚赖物质发展、技术更迭革新译制西洋影片的跨语际、跨文化实践,以求深化对翻译物质性的认识。

The Material Turn is a recent trend in the humanities and social sciences,but its impact on translation studies remains largely underexplored.This article aims to address this gap by exploring the materiality of translation and drawing on relevant theories of the material turn.Combining theoretical discussion with a case study of the film translation history in Shanghai cinema during the Republic of China,the article sheds light on how material development and technological innovation facilitated linguistic and cultural exchange.It is hoped that this article would deepen our understanding of the materiality of translation.
