殖民时期坦桑尼亚的印度裔移民群体探析

An Analysis of Indian Immigrants in Colonial Tanzania

经过数世纪的经营,印度裔群体深深融入坦桑尼亚的民族大家庭,对坦桑尼亚的历史发展进程产生了深远的影响。民间和国内学界传统上将印度裔移民群体视为“中间人”,但是这种认识更多的是基于殖民时期的种族主义视角或者非洲国家独立后的民族主义视角。对印度裔群体内部进行分析发现,移民群体依照宗教派系和种姓原则,复制了印度本土复杂的社会构成,在东非大地上形成了一幅幅马赛克群像。多元化的印度裔群体,在社会文化、经济、政治等方面为坦桑尼亚的社会变迁带来积极的影响,是坦桑尼亚社会历史发展进程的重要组成部分。

After centuries of operation and survival,the Indian community has been deeply integrated into the national family of Tanzania,and has had a profound influence on the course of Tanzania’s historical development.The Indian diaspora used to be viewed as“intermediaries”by local and Chinese scholars,but this perception is more based on a racist perspective of colonial times or a nationalist perspective of African countries after independence.A peek inside the Indian diaspora shows that these immigrants have duplicated the complex social composition of India,their original homeland,in accordance with the principles of religious sects and castes,thus forming a mosaic of sub-groups across East Africa.The diverse Indian community has positively influenced the social changes in Tanzania in terms of social culture,economy and politics,and is an important part of the social and historical development process of Tanzania.
