文明视野下中国式现代化与西方现代化的共性与本质区别

Commonalities and Essential Differences between Chinese-style Modernization and Western Modernization from a Civilizational Perspective

中国式现代化体现了文明的新形态。这是从文明的角度阐述了中国式现代化的内容与实现过程。文明作为人类摆脱野蛮与愚昧的状态与过程,是与生产生活方式以及由此产生的制度与文化联系在一起的。文明的发展不仅体现在物质文明的发展上,而且体现于非物质文明的发展上。现代化就是文明发展的最新状态及其实践过程。本文提出了现代化在物质与非物质性发展上的判别标准,由此从文明的角度阐明中国式现代化与西方现代化在物质与非物质属性上虽有一定的共性,但在物质满足的包容性、实现物质满足的方式与手段,以及制度与文化方面都存在本质区别。

Chinese-style modernization embodies a new form of civilization.This perspective elucidates the content and process of Chinese-style modernization from a civilizational standpoint.Civilization,as the process through which the human being escapes from a state of barbarism and ignorance,is inseparable from the modes of production and lifestyles,as well as the institutions and culture derived from them.The development of civilization is reflected not only in the advancement of material civilization,but also in the progress of its non-material dimension.Modernization represents the latest development stage and the practicizing process of civilization.This article presents the criteria for discerning the development of modernization in both material and non-material aspects,based on which,it explores the essential differences between Chinese-style modernization and Western modernization in terms of inclusiveness in material wellbeing,the approaches and means of achieving material satisfaction,and their respective institutions and culture,as well as the commonalities in their material and non-material attributes.
