Contemporary science fiction writers'portrayal of nonhuman images reflects their understanding and contemplation of the symptomatic cultural psychology of social transformation.These nonhuman imaginaries with local Chinese characteristics show their ideological value beyond Western ecological theories in calling for homeland identity and constructing eco-poetics.By further exploring the language of ecology and intervening in social practices,Chinese science fiction,grounded in local experience,can resolve its own creative crisis while creatively responding to the twin crises of human existence and Western humanism.
