中国当代陶艺的创作和理论探索,不仅面对着国内乃至全世界陶艺的技艺传统,也在思考着中国当代陶瓷艺术在瞬息万变的时代潮流中的未来发展方向。现代主义和后现代主义的发展在20世纪50年代至70年代到达顶峰,在艺术界、艺术批评界掀起一股热潮。中国在20世纪80年代开始真正意义上的全面吸收美国和欧洲的美学思想和新艺术运动,并进行了大量尝试。国内的现代与后现代之争随着国际评论界和创作风向也在不停更迭,陶艺不可避免地需要新的创作方向以及新的创作语言,国际环境、经济影响、文化传播的异同也表示中国陶艺在新时代的创作道路上不能循规蹈矩。在目前现代主义和后现代主义占据主流的艺术意识形态下,分析、辨别出二者的异同以及对当下社会环境的影响,值得当代陶艺家的摸索和推敲,也是能够激发创作的新的切入点。
