Comparative Study of Cognitive Grammar and Systemic Functional Grammar

本文从时态、情态、语态、体态、归一性及小句等结构维度,探讨认知语法和系统功能语法的系统观与功能观。从系统维度讲,系统功能语法重点研究不同结构系统之间的体现关系,而认知语法侧重于分析这些结构系统之间的层次关系。从功能维度讲,系统功能语法认为语言结构实现概念功能、人际功能和语篇功能等三大元功能,而认知语法认为语言结构的主要功能是陈述事件或情状、描写和协商命题的效度。

This.paper discusses the systematic and functional views of cognitive grammar and systemic functional grammar from the dimensions of tense,modality,voice,aspect,polarity and clause.In terms of the system dimension,systemic functional grammar focuses on the realization relationship between different structures,while cognitive grammar highlights the hierarchical relationship.In terms of functional dimension,the former holds that language structures realize three meta functions:conceptual function,interpersonal function and textual function while the latter proposes that their functions are to state events or situations,describe and negotiate the validity of propositions.
