数字经济的发展能否提高新老两代农民工的就业质量?——来自CMDS的经验证据

Can the Development of Digital Economy Improve Employment Quality of the New and Old Generations of Migrant Workers?Empirical Evidence from CMDS Data

就业是最大的民生工程,从数字经济视角探寻农民工就业质量提升尤为必要。本文基于CMDS微观数据和城市层面的数字经济发展指数,实证考察了数字经济对新老两代农民工就业质量的影响。研究发现,数字经济发展显著提升了两代农民工的就业质量,且对新一代农民工的影响更大,该结论在经过稳健性检验后依旧成立。异质性检验结果发现,数字经济对高物质资本、高人力资本农民工群体就业质量的促进效应更强;在相同资源禀赋下,数字经济为新一代农民工带来的就业效应更大。机制分析显示,数字经济能够促进我国产业结构高级化,进而提高农民工群体的就业质量。本文的研究不仅证实了数字经济对新老两代农民工就业质量提升的促进作用,而且为推动产业结构高级化、提高农民工人力资本水平和物质资本水平,从而促进农民工就业质量提升提供了重要的参考。

Employment is the biggest livelihood project,and it is particularly necessary to explore the improvement of the employment quality of migrant workers from the perspective of the digital economy.Based on the CMDS micro-data and the digital economy development index at the city level,this paper empirically examines the impact of the digital economy on the employment quality of the new and old generations of migrant workers.The study found that the development of the digital economy has significantly improved the employment quality of the two'generations of migrant workers,and has a greater impact on the new generation of migrant workers.This conclusion still holds after the robustness test.The heterogeneity results show that the digital economy has a stronger effect on the employment quality of migrant workers with high physical capital and high human capital;Under the same resource endowment,the digital economy will bring greater employment effects to the new generation.Mechanism analysis shows that the digital economy can improve the employment quality of migrant workers by promoting the upgrading of my country's industrial structure.The research not only confirms the role of the digital economy in promoting the employment quality improvement of the new and old generations of migrant workers,but also provides an important reference for promoting the upgrading of the industrial structure,improving the level of human capital and physical capital of migrant workers,and thus improving the employment quality of migrantworkers.
