奥古斯丁论圣像问题:视觉、形象与救赎

Augustine on the Issue about Icon:Vision,Image and Redemption

作为一个尚处在圣像论争兴起之前时代的拉丁教父,奥古斯丁在其著作中所建构的神学理论虽然没有直接涉及这一议题,却也矛盾性地蕴含着后世将激烈对立的两种观点的雏形,具体体现于他的与其视觉伦理紧密相关的神学认识论以及基督论之中。奥古斯丁在这一问题上表现出的模糊立场,是他神学体系的复杂理论来源碰撞融合的结果,就其根源而言,则来自于基督教精神与其犹太传统在相互磨合中所产生的难以避免的内在悖谬。

As a Latin Father who still lived in the era before the rise of controversy about icon,Augustine did not mention this subject directly in theological theory which he constructed in his works.But his ideas contradictorily contain the embryonic forms of two views that would be fiercely opposed in later generations.It is embodied in his theological epistemology and Christology which closely related to his visual ethics.Augustine’s ambiguous position on this issue is the result of the collision and fusion of the complex theoretical sources of his theological system.As far as its origin is concerned,it comes from the inevitable inherent paradox in the Integration between Christian spirit and its Jewish tradition.
