The thick-glazed celadon products of Longquan Kiln exhibit a jade-like texture, making them world-renowned.Based on the analysis of materials collected from the dated tombs and kiln sites, this article proposes that the opaque-glazed celadon of Longquan Kiln appeared in the early Southern Song Dynasty, matured in the mid-Southern Song and topped out during the late Southern Song to the early Yuan periods.Unlike the early transparent-glazed celadon represented by Yue Kiln in Zhejiang, the opaque-glazed celadon is a new product that born under the influence of the Northern Ru Kiln. The production of imperial porcelain was the primary motive for the emergence of the opaque-glazed products of Longquan Kiln in the early Southern Song Dynasty. Also,Longquan Kiln played a linking role in the development of official kilns.
