林巧稚,中国现代妇产科学的奠基者和开拓者。她一生亲手接生了5万多名婴儿。她把毕生精力无私地奉献给人民,被誉为“卓越的人民医学家”。林巧稚1901年出生在福建鼓浪屿的一个普通家庭。林巧稚的父亲林良英是一个思想开明的人,从小教她英语,教育她将来做一个独立的女性。她5岁时,母亲死于宫颈癌。那时,她意识到妇科疾病可能给家庭带来的悲伤,以及女性健康可能对其子女产生的影响。
Lin Qiaozhi was born in 1901 in an ordinary family in Gulangyu Island,in Fujian Province.Lin Qiaozhi’s father Lin Liangying is an open-minded person,who taught her English from an early age and educated her to be an independent woman in the future.When she was 5,her mother died of uterine cervical carcinoma.At that time,she realized the sadness that women’s illnesses could bring to their families,and the influence that women’s health could have on their children.
