Barbecue has a history of about 2,000 years in China.It is said that Xuzhou is the birthplace of barbecue.In 1986,a Han Dynasty portrait stone(汉代肖像石)was unearthed in Xuzhou with a barbecue portrait on it.The picture shows a man holding meat skewers(烤肉叉)and instant noodles during a barbecue.It is considered as the earliest historical record of grilled skewers in China.
