Broaden Our Horizons:Push the Internationalization of Chinese Higher Education:On the 40th Anniversary of China Association of Higher Education

中国高等教育学会是国家层面的重要学术组织,自1983年成立以来,致力于推动本土化的高等教育研究,同时推进中国高等教育走向国际舞台。基于高等教育“国际化”的视角,梳理中国高等教育学会1983年至2023年举办和参与组织的国际学术活动发现,学会在40年间成功举办高等教育国际论坛22届,指导和主办区域性国际会议17次,出国考察、交流和参与多国学术活动24次,涉及全球四大洲11个国家,经历了从“被动学习”到“主动参与”的学术活动机制,形成了“请进来”和“走出去”相结合的学术活动模式,使中国高等教育走向世界,在国际舞台发出了中国声音,传播了中国实践,提供了中国智慧,提升了中国高等教育的国际影响力,对推进中国高等教育国际化进程作出了重要贡献。

The China Association of Higher Education(CAHE)is an important academic organization at the national level,which has been committed to promoting localized higher education research and promoting China’s higher education enter the world since CAHE established in 1983.Based on the perspective of higher education“internationalization”,this paper reviews the international academic activities of CAHE from 1983 to 2023.We found that,in the past 40 years,the CAHE has successfully hosted 22 international forums,co-hosted or guided 17 international conferences,and gone abroad on a tour of investigation 24 times.Besides,the members of CAHE have visited 4 continents and 11 countries.And with it,CAHE has experienced the transformation from“passive learning”to“active participation”,formed an academic model combining“invite in”and“go out”.Through the unremitting efforts,China’s higher education has entered the world and Chinese voice has been heard by the world.Since it established,CAHE provides Chinese wisdom and plays an important role to promoting the internationalization of China’s higher education.
