中泰两国研究生英语批评语语用策略研究

The Pragmatic Strategies Used in Criticism by Chinese and Thai Postgraduate EFL Learners

本研究以20名中国研究生和20名泰国研究生为研究对象,采用书面语篇补全测试的方法,对中泰两国研究生英语批评语语用策略(以下简称批评策略)的使用情况进行比较分析。研究结果表明,中泰两国研究生在批评策略的使用上既有共性,也有差异,中国研究生使用间接批评策略的频率显著高于泰国研究生。本研究对培养英语二语学习者的语用能力具有一定的参考价值。

This study aimed to investigate the overall use of the pragmatic strategies in criticism by Chinese and Thai postgraduate EFL learners.The data were gathered from 20 Chinese and 20 Thai postgraduate EFL learners by means of a written discourse completion task.The results showed that the Chinese and the Thai postgraduate EFL learners not only shared the same characteristics but had differences in the use of the criticism strategies.Generally speaking,the Chinese postgraduate EFL learners used the indirect strategies significantly more frequently than the Thai postgraduate EFL learners.The study has some reference value for cultivating the pragmatic competence of learners taking English as the second language.
