The Evolution and Connotation of the Times for High-quality Development of Higher Education

上世纪90年代以来,中国高等教育先后经历外延式发展、内涵式发展和高质量发展等三个阶段。进入新时代,我国高等教育既取得了令人瞩目的发展成就,同时也面临着新的时代背景和发展要求,因此必须主动对接国家总体战略布局,树牢高质量发展的战略导向和目标追求,增强“扎根中国大地办教育”的道路自信,明确服务国家发展的责任担当,强化“办人民满意教育”的行动自觉,彰显增进人类共同福祉的价值追求,努力描绘高等教育高质量发展的新图景。

Since the 1990s,China’s higher education has experienced three stages:extensional development,connotative development and high-quality development.Entering the new era,China’s higher education not only has seen remarkable achievements,but also has to be faced with the background and development request of the new era.So it is necessary to actively be aligned with the national overall strategic layout,firmly hold on to strategic orientation and target of high-quality development,enhance our self-confidence in the road to“running education rooted in China’s land”,make clear the responsibility in servicing national development,strengthen the initiative of“running education for people’s satisfaction”,highlight the value pursuit of promoting the common well-being of mankind,and strive to depict a new prospect of high-quality development of higher education.
