数字经济赋能低碳发展的机理分析与实证检验

Mechanism Analysis and Empirical Test of Digital Economy Empowering Low-gcarbon Development

数字经济的发展给我国经济发展注入了新活力,也给“双碳”目标的实现提供新动能。研究结合数字经济发展对经典环境库兹涅茨假说进行修正,并运用2003—2020年间的281个城市的数据进行检验,结果表明:(1)中国城市的二氧化碳排放和人均GDP整体上符合环境库兹涅茨曲线假说,呈现“倒U型”。(2)数字经济在促进经济发展水平提高的同时,还会在一定程度上造成二氧化碳排放量的增加,并从整体上促进碳排放库兹涅茨曲线顶点向原点移动,对于实现绿色低碳发展具有积极影响。(3)二氧化碳排放和人均GDP的关系以及数字经济的作用,在不同区域和产业结构背景下具有异质性。研究为数字经济促进区域和产业低碳发展提供了理论基础和事实依据,也为新常态下的城市低碳转型给予了理论指引和政策建议。

The development of the digital economy has breathed new life into China’s economic progress,providing fresh momentum towards achieving the“double carbon”objective.This study focuses on the digital economy’s advancement and revisits the classic environmental Kuznets hypothesis,using data from 281 cities spanning 2003 to 2020 to test its validity.The findings reveal the following:(1)Carbon dioxide emissions and per capita GDP in Chinese cities,as a whole,align with the environmental Kuznets curve hypothesis,showcasing an overall“inverted U-shaped”pattern.(2)The digital economy not only enhances economic development but also contributes to a moderate increase in carbon dioxide emissions.Simultaneously,it propels the apex of the carbon emissions Kuznets curve towards the origin,playing a positive role in enabling green and low-carbon development.(3)The relationship between carbon dioxide emissions,per capita GDP,and the impact of the digital economy varies across different regions and industrial structures,demonstrating heterogeneity.This research establishes both a theoretical and empirical foundation for the digital economy’s promotion of low-carbon development in regions and industries.Additionally,it offers theoretical guidance and policy recommendations for facilitating the low-carbon transformation of cities within the New Normal.
