Harold Bloom’s Criticism on Kafka:From“A Little Fable”to“The Metamorphosis”

“The Metamorphosis”,as one of Kafka’s classics,draws particular attention from Harold Bloom.In view of the strong nature of“negation”in Kafka’s work,Bloom interprets“The Metamorphosis”in the form of applying Kafka to Kafka.By implanting Kafka’s“A Little Fable”into his discussion,Bloom constructs the intertextual relationship between“A Little Fable”and“The Metamorphosis”,which highlights the negative aesthetic significance of“The Metamorphosis”.Bloom holds that the negation of“The Metamorphosis”is mainly reflected both in the“implicity”of Gregor’s metamorphosis and in the“suspension”of Gregor’s death.
