Discussion on the Cultural Characteristics of Paratactic Expressions in Chinese Concept of Things

汉语的文化可导致意合表达。导致事物概念意合表达的文化内容如下:独特的历法、独特的民俗、独特的避讳、独特的神话和独特的民族文化交融。缘于独特文化的事物概念意合表达式的体验基础除了这个独特文化以外,还有事物、关系和事件框架;意合表达式的生成机制是,依靠一个或多个框架,通过转喻来突显和隐略元素;转喻有简单、复合和复杂转喻,复杂转喻又可次分;突显的元素可位于框架逻辑结构的不同层级,甚至不同的框架;所隐略的除了框架元素外,还包括整体与部分、领属、并列、修饰等关系,因而语义透明度都不高,有的还非常低。

The Chinese culture may result in Chinese paratactic expressions.The cultural contents that lead to the paratactic expression of the concept of things are as follows:a unique calendar,unique folk-customs,unique taboo,unique mythology and integration of multi-ethnic cultures.Underpinning the experiential basis of the paratactic expression of the concept of things due to this unique culture are,aside from this culture itself,things,relations and event frames.The generative mechanism of paratactic expressions works this way:relying on one or more frames to highlight or conceal elements through metonymy,which could be classified into simple,compound and complex metonymy.And complex metonymy could be further subcategorized;highlighted elements may be located at different levels of the logical structure of the same frame or even different frames;the concealed elements include the relationship between the whole and parts,possession and the possessed,juxtaposition,modification,etc.;therefore,the semantic transparency is not high,and that of some elements is quite low.
