"Involution" and "Lying Flat": the Youth Psychological Dilemma under Social Change

“内卷青年”与“躺平青年”是近年来青年社会心态变化的新样本。前者主要表现为过度投入、深陷竞争机制、精疲力竭却收效甚微等,后者则表现为积极性低、顺从姿态、低欲望生活等。从本质来看,无论“内卷”还是“躺平”,都反映出青年迷茫、焦虑、失落、矛盾的社会心态,在社会变迁下的个体与群体的相互构建下形成。探索多层次、多维度的引导路径,应关切青年的现实需求,优化青年发展条件;重视思想文化建设,加强社会舆论引导;培育青年奋斗精神,寻找个体兴趣所在;提高青年创新素质,开辟新的发展道路。

"Involute youth"and"lying flat youth"are new samples of changes in the social mentality of young people in recent years.The former mainly manifests as excessive investment,deep involvement in competition mechanisms,exhaustion with little effect,etc.,while the latter manifests as low motivation,submissive attitude,low desire to live,etc.In essence,whether"involution"or"lying flat",they all reflect the social mentality of young people's confusion,anxiety,loss and contradiction,which is formed under the mutual construction of individuals and groups under social change.To explore multi-level and multi-dimensional guidance paths,we should pay attention to the practical needs of young people and optimize their development conditions;pay attention to ideological and cultural construction,strengthen the guidance of social public opinion;cultivate young people's spirit of struggle and find individual interests;improve the quality of youth innovation and open up new development paths.
