With the rapid development of digital publishing,it has become one of the research hotspots in the industry to distinguish academic achievements with the same name in a large number of publications,such as journals,books,preprints and online publications.As a commonly used unique identifier for researchers,ORCID has been widely used in the publishing industry,but there are also some controversial issues in the process of its registration and use,such as too many blank accounts,compulsory author registration and so on.Based on the application of ORCID in digital publishing,this paper analyzes the advantages of ORCID for researchers and academic communities and the problems in its use,aiming to provide useful reference for scholars.
