The typical characteristics of conditional sentences include hypothesis and inference relationships between the antecedent and consequent clauses. The basic functional feature of the hypothesis is that it goes beyond reality, and the speaker holds a skeptical attitude towards the truth of the stated event. This article focuses on conditional sentences, which do not refer to real and objective assumptions, but rather represent a rhetorical assumption. There are mainly two situations:The first is to weaken the assertive force of normal declarative sentences,in order to achieve a tactful and reserved rhetorical effect, and the second is to indicate that the antecedent refers to a condition that is beyond doubt and of minimum quantity, with the purpose of emphasizing that the consequent clauses should indeed be accepted.
