The Dilemma of“Digital Processing Factory”:A Preliminary Study on Labor Control andGovernance of Short Video Platforms

新一轮科技革命和产业变革使短视频产业蓬勃发展,从就业民生、精神文化等多维度推动我国现代化进程,但也面临一系列阻碍自身发展的因素。依据马克思的劳动过程理论,可以揭示出平台通过算法塑造视频发行流通、劳动者技能、收入补偿机制以达成劳动控制,使得劳动者意志被重构,“无酬工作”被合理化,不稳定的劳动关系被“替代危机”所维系,进而为短视频产业的发展埋下隐患。因此,应积极从稳定就业、服务消费、提升收入的角度探寻短视频平台的发展方向,规范短视频收入分配制度,加强算法监管,建设健康网络环境,使短视频产业推动我国经济建设作用更加充分,更好地服务于中国式现代化和共同富裕。

The new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation has made the short video industry flourish,promoting China s modernization process from multiple dimensions such as employment,people s livelihood,spiritual culture,etc.,but it also faces a series of factors that hinder its own development.According to Marx s labor process theory,it can be revealed that the platform uses algorithms to shape video distribution and circulation,labor skills,and income compensation mechanisms to achieve labor control,so that the will of workers is reconstructed,“unpaid work”is rationalized,and unstable labor relations are maintained by“substitution crisis”,which in turn lays hidden dangers for the development of the short video industry.Therefore,we should actively explore the development direction of short video platforms from the perspective of stable employment,service consumption,and income improvement,standardize the short video income distribution system,strengthen algorithm supervision,and build a healthy network environment,so that the short video industry can play a fuller role in promoting China s economic construction and better serve Chinese-style modernization and common prosperity.
