Guo Huiqing's Experience in Treating Meniscus Injury with Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

半月板损伤多以肝肾不足为本,跌扑损伤、气滞血瘀为标,究其原因为筋伤。肝主筋,肾主骨,筋骨密不可分,故治疗本病应从肝肾入手,采用川牛膝、熟地黄、盐杜仲之品;兼以活血化瘀、疗伤续折,选用当归、赤芍、鸡血藤、续断等;若患者膝关节水肿较严重,还需采取利水渗湿之药,如茯苓、薏苡仁等,故诸药合用创立膝痹病合剂。汤药治其内,针刺治其外,故结合经络理论,选用梁丘、犊鼻、足三里、阳陵泉等穴位,加强补益气血、活血通络之功,针药并用、内外同治、药效所达、疾病所去。

Meniscal injury are mostly due to deficiency of Liver and Kidney,with falling,Qi stagnation and blood stasis as the symptoms.The direct cause is tendon injury.Liver supports tendon and Kidney dominates bone.Since bones and muscles are inseparable,the treatment of the disease should start with Liver and Kidney,and the products of Chuanniuxi(radix cyathulae),Shoudihuang(prepared radix rehmanniae)and Yanduzhong(salted eucommiae cortex)should be adopted in clinics.Drugs that promotes blood circulation,removes blood stasis,heals wounds and break,such as Danggui(angelica sinensis),Chishao(paeonia rubra),Jixueteng(spatholobus suberectus)and Xuduang(dipsacus),also can be used.If the patient's knee joint edema is serious,it is necessary to take drugs such as Fuling(poria cocos)and Yiyiren(coicis semen).Therefore,all the drugs are combined to create a mixture of knee arthralgia combination formula,which is treated by decoction from inside and acupuncture from outside.Therefore,according to the meridian theory,Liang Qiu,Zusanli,Yanglingquan and other acupoints are selected to strengthen the functions of invigorating Qi and blood as well as promoting blood circulation and dredging collaterals.With the combination of acupuncture and medicine,of the internal and external treatment,drugs effect is achieved and the disease is cured.
