糖基化终产物参与了以糖尿病慢性并发症为主的多种疾病的发生发展。采用药物干预糖基化终产物的形成和生物学效应 ,可能有助于防治上述疾病。迄今 ,糖基化终产物的药物干预研究主要集中于氨基胍、噻唑衍生物类、维生素类。

Advanced glycosylation end-products (AGEs) are implicated in diabetes related chronic complications, among several other diseases. Drug intervention can reduce the formation and biological effects of AGEs and hence help prevent or treat these diseases. Current studies in drug intervention targeting AGEs are mainly concerned with aminoguanidine, thiazolidine derivatives, vitamins, monoclonal antibody of AGEs, as well as traditional Chinese medicine.
