语言学的译后编辑规则研究——以谷歌翻译中译英为例

Post-Translation Editing Rules of Linguistics-By Google Translation Case Study of Chinese-English Translation

随着机器翻译系统的大幅改进和翻译需求的增加,对机器翻译文本进行译后编辑已经成为一种常见的做法。该文从机器翻译文本与人工单语译后编辑角度出发,根据Mona Baker的翻译对等理论对译后编辑文本进行翻译对等分析,采用忠实性定性评估,探究译后编辑后的谷歌翻译文本是否能正确传递源文本的含义,以期总结出适用于谷歌翻译的政治和经济文本的语言学译后编辑规则。基于数据分析和质量评估,结果显示:单语译后编辑有助于产生可读的译文,传递源文本中大部分相同的信息;适用于经济和政治文件中常用的语言学译后编辑规则,主要包括动词形式校正、词语翻译更正、词序更正、句子结构调整、句子片段修正。

With the significant improvement of machine translation systems and the increasing demand for translation,post editing of machine translated texts has become a common practice.This article starts from the perspective of machine translated text and artificial monolingual post editing,and conducts a translation equivalence analysis of the post edited text based on Mona Baker's translation equivalence theory.Using a qualitative evaluation of fidelity,it explores whether the post edited Google-translated text can correctly convey the meaning of the source text,in order to summarize the linguistic post editing rules applicable to political and economic texts translated by Google.Based on data analysis and quality assessment,the results show that post editing of monolingual translations helps to generate readable translations,conveying most of the same information in the source text;applicable to commonly used linguistic post editing rules in economic and political documents,mainly including verb form correction,word translation correction,word order correction,sentence structure adjustment,and sentence fragment correction.
