The Development and Accumulation of Traditional Chinese Yi-xiang Theory in the Song Dynasty

宋代是中国传统意象理论发展的积淀期。宋代文人以前所未有的自觉程度将意象概念运用在话语实践之中。不过与此同时,他们却缺乏针对意象理论本身进行研讨的自觉意识,而仅满足于对意象的技术性运用,结果出现意象话语实践与理论建设之间显著的非均衡问题。尽管如此,宋代文艺活动平民化对普及意象概念具有重要的促进作用,其使得意象概念被更多人所熟悉和接受,而展现在文艺创作中的意象思维也由此得到进一步发展。

The Song dynasty was a period of accumulation in the development of traditional Chinese Yi-xiang theory.With an unprecedented degree of self-consciousness,the Song literati applied the concept of Yi-xiang to their discursive practices.At the same time,however,they lack a consciousness of examining the theory of Yi-xiang itself and are content with the technical use of Yi-xiang,resulting in a significant imbalance between the practice of Yi-xiang discourse and theory construction.Nevertheless,the popularization of literary and artistic activities in the Song dynasty contributed significantly to the popularization of the concept of Yi-xiang,making it more familiar and acceptable to a wider audience,and further developing the imaginative thinking displayed in literary and artistic creation.
