生态翻译学视域下天津市公示语英译规范研究——以天津地铁为例

On the guidelines for English translation of public signs from the perspective of eco-translatology Taking Tianjin metro as on example

关于公示语英译研究多以翻译方法与策略分析居多,规范性标准尚未有学者提及。本研究以生态翻译学的多维适应选择论为理论基础,参考国标、北标等基本规范,以天津地铁9号线为例,调研公示语英译语料313条,以生态翻译“三维”视角:语言、文化、交际对其进行量化分析,并将生态翻译学多维适应选择的概念引入天津市公示语英译研究,形成公示语英译生态型规范,编撰《天津地铁公示语英译标准》范例,促进公示语英译天津地方标准的形成。

Most studies of English translation about public signs focus on translation methods and strategies,however few studies mention normative guidelines.This study analyzes the current situation of English translation of public signs in Tianjin Metro Line 9 based on“Translation as Adaptation and Selection”theory in eco-translatology,with the reference of national and Beijing local standards.This quantitative study analyzes the English translation of 313 public signs through“three-dimensional”perspective:language,culture and communication.According to the findings,this study introduces the concept of multi-dimensional adaptive selection into the research of English translation of public signs in Tianjin,compiling guidelines and samples for English translation of public signs,aiming at promoting the formation of local standards for public signs in Tianjin.
