Critical reflection on technology is a philosophical duty.Critical thinking involves introspection.The philosophical stance when reflecting on artificial intelligence technology is to cherish and uphold human life and dignity,as well as social harmony and development.It entails preserving the natural essence,supremacy,and uniqueness of human life,its material embodiment,and spiritual subjectivity,while recognizing its irreplaceability.It also requires respecting each individual's personality,the right to self-development,and the responsibility for self-improvement.In the era of artificial intelligence,maintaining social harmony and development becomes more important and more challenging.The function of technology is replacement,and the purpose of artificial intelligence technology is human replacement.The more advanced the technological level,the more comprehensive and thorough the replacement of humans.With human life being finite,the faster technological advancements occur,the quicker the ultimate replacement of humans takes place,leading to an earlier culmination of humanity.The drawbacks of ChatGPT might outweigh its benefits,and the drawbacks are still growing at an accelerating pace.If the creative production of human intellect were completely replaced by ChatGPT,humanity would lose all its grounds for existence,leading to a dehumanization that resembles“degradation”.Humanity should not bring about its own demise.Currently,artificial intelligence technology possesses this capability,and its development must be restrained.The key to restraint lies in self-control.Indulgence in desires fuels indulgence in technology,and excessive indulgence in technology leads to recklessness.Technological competition stands as the greatest obstacle to self-restraint.While the impact of self-restraint may be minimal,it is still better than uncontrolled technological indulgence.Only by defeating themselves can humanity avoid the fate of self-destruction.
