Investigating the Communication Culture and Its Psychology During the Spring and Autumn Period Through Jade-related Cases in A Commentary on the Spring and Autumn Annals

《左传》中存在相当数量的涉玉事例,可划分为礼器与财贿两大类,礼器用于赠礼、明器、祭祀与盟誓等礼仪行为,财贿以贿赂、劫掠、赏赐等世俗交往为主。涉玉事例存在双向交往与单向交往两种交往模式,并遵循一定的价值理念。通过举证分析将春秋时人的交往心理归纳为注重功利性与效用性、追求物质享受与财富积累以及礼乐变更中的矛盾心理等方面。

A Commentary on the Spring and Autumn Annals involves a considerable number of cases involving jade ware,which fall into two categories:ritual vessels and financial bribery.Ritual vessels are used for ceremonial behavior such as gift-giving,burial,sacrifice,and vow,etc.Financial bribery mainly involves secular interactions such as bribery,plunder,and rewards,etc.In addition,there are two modes of communication in jade ware related cases,i.e.bilateral communication and unidirectional communication,and they follow certain value concepts.Through the analysis of evidences,the communication psychology of people during the Spring and Autumn Period is summarized as follows:focusing on utilitarianism and utility,pursuing material enjoyment and wealth accumulation,and ambivalence in the change of rites and music principals.
