Lu Xun Literature Prize,a nationwide award under the umbrella of Chinese Writers Association,has taken an important position in the literature field like a milestone in the process of literary awards since the new era.As an indispensable mechanism of literary assessment,it can lead and stimulate the literature development in the new period;it can also provide essential support for the identity construction and social recognition of the writers.Nevertheless,its award criteria,mechanism,and strategies are prescribed and limited by its position in the context of times and literary field.It follows that it is of some reference to the further exploration and perfection of the literary award system if the function and value are re-examined of Lu Xun Literature Prize in the building of literary climate and contemporary writers’identity in the new period.
