Ideological and political education aims at helping learners form correct values of the world and life while teaching them knowledge and cultivating their abilities.Practical English for China Coast Guards is a course serving the training of qualified personnel for safeguarding China's maritime rights and interests as well as law enforcement.Thus,it is a doomed battlefield where ideological and political education is practiced.The paper expounds the nature of practical English for China Coast Guards and the relationship with College English from the aspects of the duties and missions of China Coast Guard.It also analyzes the necessity and ways of Ideological and political education in this course under the BOPPPS mode,probes into the feasibility and necessity of the ideological and political course entering the class in terms of the teaching of proper nouns and the expansion of the background knowledge of the course and the combination of Ideological and political elements.
