The Dunhuang Baoxiang flower pattern is one of the most distinctive decorative patterns in the Sui and Tang Dynasties.It absorbs the artistic elements of ancient India,Greece,Persia and Kushan empire,reflecting the mutual reference and integration of Eastern and Western cultures.This paper discusses the origin and multiple artistic factors of the Baoxiang flower pattern of Dunhuang murals,clarifies the influence of the cultural communication of the Silk Road on the ancient Chinese decorative patterns,and analyzes the styling features,composition rules and color matching of Dunhuang Baoxiang flower patterns.Then,it summarizes and the evolution rules and characteristics of the times of Dunhuang Baoxiang flower patterns.The Dunhuang Baoxiang flower patterns are widely used in home textile product design due to their luxurious and complex structure,reflecting the romantic color of traditional Chinese decorative patterns and new Chinese aesthetic style.
