Zhou Yongnian Born in Jinan

2002年夏,济南市与法国雷恩市结为友好城市。法国雷恩市长率团首次来访。在济南舜耕山庄贵宾楼,双方第一次见面会谈,雷恩市长致答词提出,很荣幸与济南结为友城,济南是全球公共图书馆的发祥地!这大抵是因为济南有个周永年,他曾在济南和北京创办了藉书园。一直以周永年为偶像楷模的山东大学文学院院长杜泽逊教授最近在“图书馆阅读文化学术研讨会”上建议济南市图书馆要塑一尊周永年铜像。

Zhou Yongnian,courtesy name Shuchang,whose ancestral home was Yuyao,Zhejiang,was born in Licheng Dongliushui Street.Zhou Yongnian was eager to learn since childhood,and he could recite whatever he saw because of his extraordinary retentive memory.Around the age of twenty,he had become famous in Shandong province.
